I am confused. There are livestreams from people in am yesterday watching orange felon name come down with a double rainbow right at end? Did that happen?
So supposedly there is a peace deal with Iran that is going to be "signed in the next few days" Chances are 99% trump wont be the one signing it. It is guaranteed to be far more advantageous to Iran than before trump started the war. and infinitely better for Iran than what they had under Obama. This is going to indicate his favored successor, I am thinking he will send JustDumb to sign it as well as be the one to take the blame for it.
Two better titles for the article about Pastor Russel B Johnson would have been:
1. The gospel of Jesus according to Roy Cohn
2. Sociopaths for Jesus
Attack! Attack! Attack!
Make yourself out to be a victim
Deny! Deny! Deny!
That is the essence of Pastor Russel B Johnson's responses. To question him is to be ignorant and/or low IQ.
Ethical concerns are beside the point, not worthy of a response. Reality is whatever he decides that it is.
The level of egocentrism displayed in Pastor Johnson's responses is astonishingly pure. Pastor Johnson is completely upfront with it. It's part of the persona that really works with MAGA, AUTHORITY. Knowledge? Not so much.
Pastor Johnson has got his act completely thought out, from the costume of trendy "street" clothes that make him appear to be relatable, rather than the vestments that would set him apart, to the Cohnsian screwing "the system".
There doesn't appear to be one iota of spirituality present in Pastor Johnson's responses, just the pleasures of being live meat. And who can blame him? The only sure thing is that there is no sure thing, so grab what you can.
The Pastor comes from a long tradition of Evangelical grifters, enriching themselves at the expense of others and ever striving for more temporal pleasure and power.
Eventually they all fall, usually because they can't keep it in their pants, or their thievery becomes too great to ignore.
The fact that Rubio tells the Senate that the administration doesn't care if the boats have drugs or guns or any kind of contraband, if we want to kill them we kill them. Think about that.
You know, that was one eloquent elephant. It was obviously embarrassed to be forced to represent the Republican party, and this was the only way to clearly signal its disapproval.
As for the WSJ article about Sarah, I was so proud of her. Kudos to The Bulwark for feeling like a community, when it's an even bigger deal than I realized. I'm going to have to talk nicer to you guys! Nah! 😉
"Pastor" Russell Johnson? Pfffffft, as Bill the Cat would say. Nothing pastoral about this stain. And thanks for the WSJ article. New info on smart investors like Gates and Murdoch. Congratulations to Sarah and all The Bulwark for building this remarkable community. And profitable, no less! And thank you for giving so many of us an intellectual and political home.
The Pursuit church is one mile away from my childhood home. It has always been the site of a mega nondenominational congregation but this reincarnation seems most menacing. I visited the website after seeing this article. I grow up Lutheran/Espicopalian and the aesthetic really does not appeal to me. But others may be attracted to the razzle dazzle.
The removal of Donald's name from the Kennedy Center turned out to be the longest, dullest striptease in history. Hours and hours and more hours of workers milling around or raising the scaffolding while behind the scenes the Donaldistas did their best to keep this from becoming an iconic image. Still, despite a little obligatory defiance of the law (shooting past the court-ordered deadline) the deed was done.
It was amazing almost 8 thousand people were watching the Substack livestream at midnight EDT. But agree it was like watching paint dry. The comments online made it a bit more enjoyable.
The comments to the Wall Street Journal article about Sarah were about 50% love The Bulwark and the others just MAGA trashing. I did find the article enlightening re the big investors.
Thanks for hyperlinking your footnotes! (I saw JVL did it first and loved it.)

Enjoy the ride, Pastor.
Great profile of Sarah and The Bulwark at the WSJ. Several readers indicated that they were subscribers.

Such an appropriate meme, Abbott pissing on Texas.

Don’t dignify an influencer with the title ‘pastir’
"self ordained", influencer ??????????

Is this the first time ever in Ohio? Except for 2 years ago when Bill Kristol gave a talk at the Mercantile Library?
Gambier is a drive too far for me. Hope we can persuade The Bulwark crew to travel a bit further south in the future.

Yes, plenty of MAGA. They’re incorrigible!
Thanks!
