I couldn't agree more, except I agree Mandela Barnes was not a good candidate for a swing state like WI. What would have been interesting is why the WI Dems couldn't get a better candidate.

Which is why maybe someone sitting in Wisconsin with a sizable media megaphone should have walked the walk and invited Sarah Godlewski on as a guest. Just spitballing.
Well, he didn't. Milwaukee had lower-than-expected turnout.
Black Dem turnout has been down in the last two election cycles. I did some searching as to why - apprently it peaked in '08 and started declining since. I did find that the DNC is running focus groups to find out why.
Judge Protasiewicz had a huge victory in WI in April. I could not find any data on Black turnout in Milwaukee in that election.
I hope the Dems figure this out and what to do about it.
Perhaps because Democrats failed to deliver on that voting rights act legislation? Also.. inflation. I think the perceived economy, the kitchen table politics is what is going to be the largest challenge. I am visiting Mass. and almost every restaurant wants about $20 for a hamburger. Insanity.
Yes, that could very well be. I just looked at two restaurants in my neighborhood, both price range $$ - $$$, and the burgers are $18. Also, some students were commenting on the daily special at the snack bar at school (meat/chicken and rice, tacos, mac and cheese, sloppy joes and fries) is $10. It was $8 last year. That's a 20% increase. That's a big increase.
But price is what the market will bear. Consumer behavior will bring prices down. Don't go out to eat as much and bring your lunch. Inflation is not gonna make me vote for a deranged demagogue. That should be what the voters are basing their vote on. And it's up to the Dems to get that message across.

Why did she drop out and endorse Barnes?
I'd guess to win in that state they need high turnout in Milwaukee, and he was their best hope to increase black voter enthusiasm.
