As my sister constantly points out after a career in politics, both as a volunteer and an elected legislator, statistically half of the population is below average in intelligence.

When I taught, I voted in morning, then went to school wearing my Voted sticker. The social studies teacher asked me why I wore it all day. I said, "Well, maybe one or two will go home and remind their parents to vote." He responded," Better they dont vote if they dont know it is election day and what they are voting for."
That’s why Republicans want to kill public education. It’s way easier to sucker people who can read words but have zero comprehension of what the words mean.
Mean, median, mode - when you have a sample size of 300 million or so, they all start to blend together in the middle! So maybe a hundred million clustered within a few percentage points. I take some comfort in that - we're eerily similar to most of those around us.
OK, and in lay terms, what is the difference between the median person and the average as in below average? Are we talking about a difference in semantics, or a signficant, statistical matter?
But you did earlier today write that this was the wrong election for which to swear off glue sniffing. That was all I meant. I did not need a confession!😏🥂
Damn libruls bringing up ancient history. 'Earlier today', like that's supposed to have bearing on the here and now. And when it comes to substance ab'use', someone is getting a little free with the clinking glasses of bubbly. I'm just sayin'

Wow, you were both right.
Technically (and please don't throw something at me!), statistically half the population is below the median level of intelligence, not the average.

And that’s why some of the ancient philosophers distrusted democracy.
The problem being though is you get the tyranny of the elite.
Yes, it really requires noblesse oblige if you want to only allow the upper end of the intelligence spectrum to vote.
...and, without being a scholar of ancient philosophy or philsophers, I bet that some of them also did.
Ah, they were bought and paid for by the Divine Right Deep State. ;)
I thought you swore off glue sniffing😏🥂.
I was for against gule sniffing before I was for it. Or the other way around...not sure, I've sniffed a lot of glue. Whale!

OK, but you don't have to imbibe to think that it was also a symbol of a toast of friendship and peace.
Now what kind of friend would I be if I didn't drink after a toast?
Champagne, glue, meth...who am I to judge?
Its all good!
