So proud of Lisa Murkowski. And this Dem will never regret walking door to door for her to try and defeat a rabid tea partier in her write-in campaign. (Sorry, but we are a red state and it was likely our only chance. And what a chance it was!) Thank you, Lisa, for being very brave and honorable repeatedly.

Pronating?

Trump has had little success pronating senators. CollinтАЩs and Murkowski are solid with their electorates. And Mitch is retiring

GaetzтАЩs downfall might be a partial answer to my internal queries: DonтАЩt these GOP legislators care about their own families? The danger we perceive is real and it will be spread widely.

If Murkowski gets bullied too much I could see her saying "Screw you guys, I'm now an Independent!". Good luck beating her in a ranked choice election.

The truth is, on a personal level, Murkowski is 67 years old. While she may have more left in her career should she continue running, if she doesn't run again or loses, she can enjoy her retirement. She is well off financially and she can either work at something she loves or travel the world while still young enough.

I was in Alaska on vacation during election week and I thought the measure to repeal had won. So happy to hear that it ended up losing. I wonder if that helped buttress Murkowski's stance in this.

Thank you. You have just illustrated one of the fundamental truths of a democracy: Every election will have only one winner.

You may choose to support only those candidates who agree with you on your particular issue, which may result in the election of someone who is worse on your issue than the other choices. You may choose to support someone with whom you might disagree, but will broadly be better than the other choices, and also has the potential to be elected. .

Electoral politics is a question of what can be done, not a matter of ideological purity.

And thank you for your engagement and involvement, even if it was for a definite "R" at the time.ЁЯШЙ Democracy needs "the people" to work for it. Nice to see that she seems to have found her "red" line (pun intended). Now let's hope that she continues that view with Toadi Gabbard, Hypocritical Hegeseth, and the Brain Worm to name the next three that come to mind immediately.

IтАЩve wondered, too. But my guess is she would lose more R votes than she would gain. And too many. (She is clearly an independent, though.)

IтАЩve been wondering if there is any chance she would leave the Republican Party, maybe not go so far as to become a Democrat but become an independent. This is not her party.

DidnтАЩt she register as an independent when she was defeated in her primary?

I donтАЩt think so but that was special circumstances. I do want to check now though.

Looks like she won as a write in candidate. Good job..:)

Definitely ran as a write-in candidate. And people had to spell her name correctly! So I guess she didnтАЩt declare a party ?
