There is a whole contrarian culture where "alternative" sources automatically have more credibility than "mainstream" sources. Trying to argue with them is like trying to kick water uphill because the lack of evidence IS evidence. They pretend that the guy on YouTube is acting out of altruism and has no financial incentive while the scientific community consensus is being manipulated by "big whatever they are against (pharma, energy, etc...).

I've shut down almost all social media (although my Twitter account is still active for now) for the reasons cited but also because I'm simply not that interesting -- at least not "Twitter-interesting". It is telling that the only time I seem to miss social media is when I feel outrage about something. It's been good to settle the snow globe in my head and I read much more.

The Libertarian Party of NH reeks of fascism, anti-"socialism", vehement admiration of Putin, hatred of Nazi [sic] Ukraine, and desire to controllingly impose their anger, fear, and loathing upon New Hampshire. As their Twitter site states: "we're taking over New Hampshire not to rule you [New Hampshire residents], but to liberate you." This so-called liberation is reminiscent of that "liberation" of Germany from the Communists by, guess who, wait for it, wait for it....National Socialists. And I do suspect, although I can not find overt declarations on their Twitter site, that if one digs deeply into this "liberation" party, one just might smell the stench of anti-Semitism too. Yup. They want to make NH the "Free State" and only they [as in one party] can make us free. It's a crazy world when so-called freedom looks in the mirror and admires the beauty of authoritarianism.
