Roseanne Boylan was the rioter I had in mind with being trampled to death. Sicknick died from strokes and is considered to have died in the line of duty. There was another insurrectionist who died of a heart attack. Two policeman who committed suicide, and of course Ashley Babbitt. There is no question from the video she was moving her way through a broken glass window in a door to get on to the Speaker's Lobby. She was armed with a knife. She was warned. She was shot. Trump supporters in the Capital that day should count their lucky stars more policeman did not use their guns as they would have been justified in doing. All I thought about when watching this live was this could turn into a bloodbath. The fact it didn't is a miracle.
Herre is something from Wiki with footnotes about pleadings. Note that those who went to trail tended overwhelmingly to be convicted of all charges, hence most people plead out.
"As of October 13, 2021, more than 100 defendants—of the over 630 individuals charged thus far—had entered guilty pleas.[35] By the end of July 2023, 629 defendants had pleaded guilty, and 129 others went to trial. Of those that went to trial, 87 defendants were convicted of all charges, 40 defendants received mixed verdicts (convicted of at least one charge, and acquitted or a hung jury on at least one charge), and two were acquitted of all charges.[36] Hundreds were still awaiting trial or sentencing.[37]"
In your mind Officer Sicknick just keeled over in his office later in the day because.....and had nothing to do with fighting off insurrectionists. Well, Ok. Then my take is no Trump supporter would have died if they had stayed out of the Capital. They didn't, they died.
Like I said before, juries are basing their decisions on video, behavior in court, and testimony from witnesses. They are handing out guilty decisions because the insurrectionists were guilty. The increase in guilty pleas doesn't surprise me because their attorneys would have seen, pleading is the better route to go given the evidence.
Most defendants are pleading out because they do not want to face multiple charges in front of a DC jury that hates them in advance. Please, this is a like a black man trying to get acquitted in the Democrat south.
Most defendants in any jurisdiction plead out. Historically, most defendants facing DOJ indictments plead out no matter who is president. It's one reason I do have issues with our entire judicial system. The other issue I have is rich bastards like Trump and Epstein gaming the system with delays, appeals, and their money.
DC probably isn't the court you want to get tried in if you participated in an insurrection and spent the days prior intimidating the citizens of the city. I have very little sympathy for any of them, except the true believers who were essentially conned into following Trump like lemmings. I have noticed some of them have gotten off in jury trials.
Proud Boys and Oath Keepers engaged in intimidation tactics in at least two prior rallies in December, one was in front of a black church which resulted in Enrico Tarrio being arrested which is why he was not at the Capital on 1/6.
I didn't say that, what I said is DC had their fill of right wing intimidation. Sometimes you get bit by the other dogs in your pack. It is not inconceivable that DC jury members were sending a message that their city is not a playground for rioters. They weren't all that kind and gentle to BLM arrestees either. Nor have the Capital police welcomed other protest groups with open arms.
If there's one thing that irritates me no end about Trump and his supporters is the constant use of the victim card. While they freely use intimidation tactics against their perceived enemies they whine like starved babies when held accountable for their behavior. I too don't know if our country can survive when living in two completely different realities with two completely different standards of accountability. I've enjoyed our back and forth. Thanks.
This is just so vicious. "Bit by the other dogs in your pack." I don't even know what that means. This is thug talk. Let us draw this to a close wiht a prayer for our country.

Like I said, all deaths were of Trump supporters.

Sicknick died of natural causes.

Spent the days prior intimiating citizen of the city? What i this a reference to?

I truly wonder if our country can survive this.
So, people who had nothing to do with that are punished because of it. This is fair to you. This is so strange.

Ask Liz Cheney what that means. By all means this country needs everybody's prayers.
