The governor of Pennsylvania, Josh Shapiro, sits down with Tim Miller in Philly to talk about the kind of language that wins over voters, the campus protests, finding the sweet spot on public safety and crime, and getting sh*t done.
Josh Shapiro won against Doug Mastriano which is not saying much. Sort of like stroke victim Jon Fetterman winning against Dr Oz. Josh Shapiro might win a US Senate seat in PA but he would never win POTUS. Just like Pete Buttigiegthe would never win as POTUS candidate. Wishful thinking. How many times will the Democrats run candidates who will be rejected by mainstream Americans?

Good interview, Shapiro comes across as normal-sounding and competent. I know Shapiro won in a blowout in 2022, but how this man beat Deranged Doug Mastriano by only 15 points says a lot about where we are as a country and what a whole lot of voters want in their elected officials
Fantastic interview. I have followed Gov Shapiro for several years and find him to be smart as a whip. I remember his son walking into his interview during Covid and slowly backed out of the scream. That was priceless.
What a wonderful interview. PA is so lucky to have him.
It was such a relief to hear somebody call this out as antisemitism without feeling the need to differentiate it from Zionism, which many of the protesters clearly don’t understand.
I don’t think he believes that there was “overkill” in breaking up the protests. Like David French, he’s a lawyer and he knows what the First Amendment says.
Tim, you are doing such a good job both with getting interesting folks to come on, then having good conversations. This was an especially good episode.

This is in stark contrast to Donald Trump after Charlottesville, or Steve King, or all the other right wing crazies.
