Now hard to comment on individual pieces? so it seems generic comments are OK? About article concerning Ayn Rand--Knew people who were Ayn Rand followers, always males. By grad school, just one remained a follower. He asked, so I agreed to read the Fountainhead, in return for his reading a favorite of mine, not political. Afterward, I pointed out was wrong with it, and he said he'd been thinking the same things. He now thought it oversimplified the world, hence its appeal to high schoolers, and that it, second, flattered the wrong personality types, hence appealing to people who would not mind destroying the world IF it's destruction benefitted them.
Later in life found bio stuff on her.
She lived her life by her philosophy, with BAD consequences. Her philosophy gave permission, not only to cheat on her husband, repeatedly, but also to seduce husbands of her best friends. By the end of her life, she was said to be lonely, no children, her former best friends had deserted her, were no longer speaking to her. Not sure why her spouse stayed with her.
