Now I can get on with the rest of my day secure in the knowledge that yet another Trump enabler has made his voice heard only after the fact, when he has little or nothing to lose anymore by doing so. Next you'll tell me he's trying to sell a book or something.
So, yeah, um, thanks, Bill, for all of your timely help. As a result you also have been entered in the Better Late Than Never sweepstakes. We'll keep you posted on the outcome.
Sorry, you’re wrong. Bill Barr has spoken out previously. The new winner is former Secretary of Defense Mark Esper, who appeared on Sunday talk shows to say that if the indictment allegations are true, Trump should not be trusted with national security info again. I think Esper has been silent till now.
From where I sit Barr wins the tiebreaker on account of his more blatant and twisted ability to engage in Bothsideserism with an entirely straight face. But indeed there is stiff competition for all of the awards. As the author and others here have noted, we do not always have the luxury of fighting only with the people we choose. We take support when and where we can get it. But history has a long memory and a deep tradition of giving context where it is needed. I suspect that it will remember Barr primarily as someone who coulda shoulda woulda made a bigger and better difference if he hadn't been so concerned for his own self-interests at the time. And, yes, he is far from alone on that count as well (see: Pence, Mike, among others).
The book failed, as did the "rehabilitation" tour. From Mueller and Durham, we know he isn't above bending the Rule of Law to his own political ends, so my guess on motive? He doesn't think trump can beat Biden without the levers of power to steal it, or Putin's assistance, so he wants his party to move on to DeSantis, whom he thinks can beat Biden. There's always a motive with Barr (and so many others).
I think you nailed that. I don't trust BB at all. He's too cocksure of himself. Compare him to Kinzinger. Kinzinger is a straight shooter. Barr is a double dealer.
Agree totally. I suggest an additional thought: the call is coming not only from inside the house but also *to* the inside of the house. Who better than trump's second attorney general, who served him exceedingly well, to create information conditions for Republican lawyers and *judges* to break from trump in the MAL espionage case? Barr probably had as much to do with Aileen Cannon's nomination as Leonard Leo did. Let's hope Cannon took Barr's call.
Or as the subscription renewal from the National Lampoon showing a hot dog in a bun opening their mailbox and reading a card that says, "Congratulations, you may already be a Wiener!" Yes, Billbo Barr, you are a wiener...
Sorry Independent Cheesehead, I didn't see your comment until my remark posted. I feel so MAGA MAGA....However, as a metaphor, ketchup is essentially the perfect condiment for these particular wieners and any others who are willing....
I don't remember who said it on Twitter, but someone pointed out that if the Clintons were actually guilty of murdering their enemies, the fact that Anthony Weiner is still alive debunks that. :D

And James Comey seems to be in good health.
Well played. I'm hearing Ed McMahon's voice as I type this.
